Shamanic Reiki




This form of Reiki takes as its foundation Usui Reiki and builds on this fantastic discipline a framework of Shamanic techniques in order to offer a wide range of services reaching far beyond that of the standard Reiki session. A perfect blend of traditional Japanese Reiki together with freeform Shamanism creating together a new form with which to focus the ever abundant universal energy.
Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal, or Life Energy. This is an energy which is everywhere, all around us all the time. It is a form of natural healing. This is the  system of healing which evolved in Japan from the experience and dedication of Dr Mikao Usui. He developed this healing system from ancient teachings after many years of study, research and meditation. He spent the rest of his life practising and teaching Reiki. Today Reiki continues to be taught by Reiki Masters who have trained in the tradition passed down from Master to student.
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment, the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed.

A Reiki Treatment



The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is a very simple process. The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes. If they are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position, the main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything, even plaster casts. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. A full treatment usually takes 1 to 1½ hours with each position held for several minutes. Reiki can help with a great many treatments including physical, emotional, as well as mental. It is a true Mind, Body and Spirit healing system. This system can be used and sent over distance and is very effective as a distant healing tool.

Shamanic Reiki



With the addition of Shamanic techniques Reiki becomes so much more. Like Reiki Shamanism is not a religion, nor is it a series of dogmatic beliefs. Instead it is a loose-form set of techniques and tools used for one purpose and that is because they have all been tried and tested. The universe is so much more and through Shamanic work forces within each and every thing which makes up the living universe can be accessed and worked with. We are all related, not just people, not simply mammals, but each blade of grass, tree, mountain, rock, crystal, insect, fish and wind. All have their place and the walker between worlds, the Shaman has learned to communicate with these.
 


The term communication is an oft misunderstood one. If I were to say I had just communicated with a tree. Too often this will be greeted with a laugh, or at the very least a good humoured smile. The reason for this is simple. People assume that communication is speech, or at least a definite form of language such as signing. Would it then surprise you to know that two humans in conversation use only a mere 7% of the words in understanding and decoding the meaning of the other person and 93% in non verbal communication such as body language, tonal qualities and other indicators. Communication can take many forms and in order to judge one must first be informed.
