Shamanic Divination Many people see in divination a strange and esoteric device designed to make contact with unseen forces and so fear these methods of investigation. The truth of divination lies not in outside invisible forces, but within our own spiritual selves, for divination is simply a tool, or tools designed to enable contact not with outer forces, but instead with inner elements of ourselves. These elements have been known by many names, names such as the higher self, the holy guardian angel, guides, spirit and even Id. The truth is that call it what you will, it is this energetic force within ourselves which we are able to trigger during divination and so uncover answers, truths and possibilities which would otherwise go unnoticed. Carl Jung the Swiss psychiatrist and founder of Analytical psychology postulated the now mostly accepted theory of Synchronicity. This is where two or more events occur and have obvious joining natures and so seemingly cannot be dismissed as pure coincidence and so must have a deeper meaning. This then points to divination being a perfect example of Synchronicity, that includes the following:
